BEIJING (Reuters) – General Motors Co plans to launch 15 new and redesigned vehicles in China this holiday season, within a bid to “strengthen sales momentum” while in the world’s biggest automobile market, this company said .
Roughly 1 / 2 these brand new products might be sport-utility vehicles and minivans, although some are models for GM’s premium brand – Cadillac.
“GM will sharpen its focus on the segments using the strongest consumer demand like SUVs, MPVs and luxury vehicles,” the company said inside of a statement.
GM and it is local joint venture partners sold 4.04 million vehicles in China this past year, a rise of 4.4 % from your year earlier. The interest rate was slightly faster than that from which China’s overall vehicle market grew a year ago.
According into the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, vehicle sales in China totaled 28.88 million vehicles in 2009, up 3 percent on year.
